Great QR example – putting the consumer first –
Zego has done a great job with their usage of QR codes. As we know, QR as a tech is just fine – terrific even – but the “meh” perception persists. “The fault, dear Marketeers, is not in the stars, but in ourselves.” Zego, I think, understood how to give their customers what the customer wanted – not what Zego wanted – and so made their use of QR codes outstanding.
Zego’s protein bars are bought by folks who are concerned about health and particularly about allergens. So Zego attached batch level ingredients to their payoff. Every batch of protein bars has unique QR that lists exactly what in that batch. Fantastic understanding of what the consumer wants and a terrific way to deliver the information. Click on the image of the protein bar here http://zegosnacks.com/ and scan with a QR scanner to see the payoff. (Whoops – the above QR is dead now . . see below for a more current example.) Here’s a short write-up about Zego’s innovative usage (sorry about the blocking ad – not my doing.) And, No – I have no affiliation with Zego but I love to see great examples using print (be it QR or our Intelligent Marketing tech Linkz) to deliver exceptional value to both brand and consumer/end-users.
